Brazoria County, Texas is a county referred to as “Where Texas Began”, it was given this name because of its long historical background. It was a deserted area in what is called the Runaway Scrape as the Mexican army advanced from their victory at the Alamo. Brazoria County was platted in 1828 by John Austin but was not founded until 1836.

The first traffic bridge, built across the Brazos River in this historical region in 1912, provided a vital link between eastern and western Brazoria County. Sadly, because of the lack of pieces and maintenance, the wood-decked bridge fell into the river in the 1930s.

Today, It is a small city in the U.S. state of Texas, located in the Houston–The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan area and Brazoria County, currently with a population of a little over 3,000 citizens.
